Is There a Downside to a Revocable Living Trust?

Is there a disadvantage to establishing a revocable living trust? A client asked me this the other day, and it’s an important question that I believe many people have. I had to pause for a moment to reflect. Is there a disadvantage to establishing a revocable living trust? Because I had just finished explaining that the client would be the grantor. The trustee would be the client. The client could amend the trust, move items in and out of the trust, sell items, dissolve the trust, change the beneficiaries — do everything almost exactly as if they owned the property outright, just signing their name a little differently.
